Programs for 2017
Waccamaw Audubon Society will meet Thursday May 11, at Christ the Servant Lutheran Church, 2105 Highway 501, Conway, SC. Refreshments are at 6 PM and the meeting will start at 6:30 PM. Our speaker is Christian Hunt of Defenders of Wildlife. He will discuss the correlation between the global loss of apex predators and collapsing bird populations. As it relates to the Southeast, he will also discuss North Carolina's red wolf, and its ecological role.
The Waccamaw Audubon Society meets six times a year, on the second Thursday of March, April, May, September, October, and November. Refreshments at 6:00 pm, meeting starts at 6:30 pm. The meetings are held at several locations in order to be most convenient to our geographically diverse membership. Locations of all meetings are announced on the web site, by email (if we have your address) and through press releases to the local media.All WAS programs are free and the public is invited to attend.
